Discussion was held regarding several topics:

  • Regarding ACC Minutes:   (a) refer to ACC minutes, (b) recommend the new Arkansas Christian Conference (ACC) website www.sportsacc.com for information, website has an area for coaches to enter scores from games,  (b) Conway Christian has finished a new gymnasium, games will be held there, (c) Faulkner County may use CBC's gym or may continue to play some games at the McGhee Center, (d) discussed player eligibility, (e) scorekeepers must be diligent including keeping record of when players enter games and when players are injured, (e) discussed new common referee pool (Officials for Christ) that will be used by some ACC members, not required, (f) Mr. Henry's pool is not willing to officiate all games, refused to travel to Conway, (g) varsity games will have 3 referees.

  • Conference follows AAA Guidelines.  James Hayden, Treasurer, to order rule book for each coach.

  • Preliminary Basketball Calendar to be entered/maintained on website.  Holland Chapel only has 6 home dates available.  SCCHEA needs to be looking for another gym.  Brad Daniel to contact First Southern about use of their gym, noting that there would be a usage fee.  Beth Windom to contact Geyer Springs Baptist about use of their gym.

  • Cross Country track recommended for conditioning of basketball athletes.  Saturday running events listed on calendar.  Mike Carpenter, ACC Secretary, is organizer.  No age limit for elementary students.

  • Basketball Financial Report reflected ending balance for the 2004-2005 of $52.58.  No monies are left to donate to Holland Chapel Baptist Church, Zion Lutheran Church, or 1st Southern Baptist Church.  The Basketball Committee voted to not give coaches a discount on their children's registration and to increase players registration fees to $40.00 per player for the 2005-2006 season.  The new registration fee was figured by estimating next years expenses and dividing that by the number of estimated players for 2005-2006.  Brad Daniel to consider organizing golf tournament as fundraiser.

  • No practice games scheduled.  Art DeAscentis willing to provide phone numbers for non-conference teams to coaches.  Coaches may schedule as their team desires.

  • Registration forms to be prepared by Athletic Committee.  Coaches request earlier registration so that practice may begin earlier.  New State Guidelines mandate that SCCHEA obtain a copy of each student's Notice of Intent to homeschool.  If a student has graduated, they may not play basketball.

  • Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director will also handle baseball/softball programs.  Meeting to be held later, preferably before the Dec 17, 2005 ACC meeting being held to schedule games.  James Hayden agreed to serve as baseball/softball treasurer.

Meeting began at 7:15pm and ended at 9:10pm.
